On April 20, we were proud to welcome over 120 attendees to our 2012 Outstanding Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards. This year's awardees were Guadalupe Galicia, winner of the Boot Strap Entrepreneur Award; Hui Ping Liu, winner of the New York Job Creator Award;  and Dr. Leonid Isakov, BCNA Panelwinner of the New Beginning Award. I was particularly honored that Fatima Shama, Commissioner of the NYC Mayor's office of Immigrant Affairs joined us to present the awards. Rounding out the event was a panel discussion on "How to Use Technology to Market Your Business," expertly led by Chuck Roberts of Durobi LLC and Foulis Peacock of Immpreneur.com.

BCNA Honors Immigrant Entrepreneurs

We were very excited to commemorate New York's Immigrant Heritage Week this year with BCNA's first Outstanding Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards.

On Friday, April 20th, over 100 friends and clients gathered at BCNA's headquarters at 120 Broadway to recognize three inspiring immigrant entrepreneurs, as well as to hear an expert panel discuss how social media can help entrepreneurs boost their business'  bottom line.

Immigrant Heritage WeekThis year, the Business Center for New Americans will celebrate the indomitable spirit and courage of immigrants during New York's 9th Annual Immigrant Heritage Week by presenting special awards to three outstanding entrepreneurs. Fatima Shama, Commissioner of the New York City Office of Immigrant Affairs, will be our special guest at the awards ceremony, which will be held on Friday, April 20th.

Expansion of Services in Queens

We are extremely pleased to announce that we have just been awarded a generous $60,000 grant by Citi Community Development.

This grant will allow us to increase our outreach to low and moderate income entrepreneurs in Queens, working in collaboration with the Queens Public Library system, economic development organizations, and community organizations serving New York City's most diverse borough.
